Morgan Wallen’s 2-year-old son is recovering after being attacked by his ex-girlfriend’s dog.

Indigo “Indie” Wilder Wallen, who will turn 3 in July, was rushed to an emergency room on Sunday following the incident that occurred while under the care of his mother, KT Smith. The boy sustained injuries and received stitches to his face after the unexpected attack from the Great Pyrenees named Legend she adopted last year.

The Nashville, Tennessee-based social media influencer, who was once engaged to Wallen, revealed the news on Instagram Monday in an emotional video message.

“Yesterday, [Legend] bit Indigo in the face and [he] had to have stitches and we spent yesterday morning at the emergency room,” Smith shared.

Thankfully, Smith confirmed the tyke is “OK” and that “his scar will be minimal.”

“Since then, we have been looking for options [regarding Legend],” she continued. “I just couldn’t bring myself to what everyone else says and what you’re supposed to do, apparently… What the world tells you to do is to put the dog down because they are aggressive and I’ve gone back and forth with that and … I don’t want him to go to a kill shelter or nothing like that and shelters are full.”

Later in the day, she announced she was able to rehome the dog with a family in east Tennessee.

“We just dropped Legend off with the sweetest family where he will be living out his full potential and best life on a farm,” Smith shared, adding that she will “visit any time we need to.”

Smith and Wallen dated for a few years before announcing they were engaged in 2019. Two years later, Wallen told People the couple had broken off their relationship before their baby was conceived, but “obviously” they “still saw each other some.”

The Billboard-topping country star recently canceled six weeks of shows due to a vocal cord injury. On June 7, he announced that doctors had cleared him to “talk and sing.” Many of those canceled shows have since been rescheduled.
