money Macy’s makes big changes at Meridian Mall with new store concept, planned renovations
OKEMOS – Macy’s in Meridian Mall has undergone a big change, with over 13,000 square feet now dedicated to its new store concept Macy’s Backstage.
Macy's Backstage offers name-brand products for lower-than-usual prices and held its grand opening at the end of May, Meridian Mall Macy’s Store Manager Mike Greene wrote in a written statement.
“Macy’s Backstage is our off-price on-trend store concept that offers best-in-class merchandise for those who love the thrill of the hunt,” he said.
Macy’s Backstage is located inside the Macy’s store at its west entrance. Offerings include clothing, toys, housewares, beauty products, designer handbags and pet items.
Although Macy’s Backstage is new for Meridian Mall, it’s not new for the company, with 300 locations within stores nationwide as of May.
Meridian Mall visitors can expect more changes at Macy’s this July, as the company will renovate its customer service area, add additional checkouts, a fitting room option and improve its online merchandise pickup and returns, Greene said.
“Putting Backstage stores in existing locations can increase foot traffic, and the ‘treasure hunting’ of off-price shopping is hard to replicate online,” he said.
