LSU football signs late commitment Landon Ibieta, a Mandeville receiver and a Miami flip
Three-star Mandeville wide receiver Landon Ibieta, a flip from Miami, signed with LSU when the three-day NCAA early signing period opened Wednesday.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Ibieta is the No. 73 receiver nationally and No. 27 recruit in Louisiana, according to 247Sports.com.
He made the announcement late Tuesday night on Twitter, saying, "Hold That Tiger."

A longtime Miami commit, Ibieta received offers from Louisville, Nebraska and LSU during a three-day span after the Hurricanes fired Manny Diaz and hired Oregon coach Mario Cristobal.

Diaz subsequently was named defensive coordinator at Penn State to replace former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and Georgia Southern defensive coordinator and former Vanderbilt co-defensive coordinator Brent Pry, who hired to coach Virginia Tech in late November.
LSU’s offer to Ibieta came after the Tigers bought out coach Ed Orgeron and replaced him with former Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly.
He was not offered by Orgeron’s staff.
Ibieta originally committed to Miami in June, when he also made an official visit.
