LIVE UPDATES: Middleboro Little League represents Massachusetts at New England Regionals

BRISTOL, CT. – Winning championships at the sectional, district and state levels this summer has quickly helped the title of 'Team Massachusetts' grow on the Middleboro Little League baseball team.

Packed-up and prepared, the team takes its state crown on the road to Breen Field at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, CT to square off against fellow state champs from Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire at the Regionals tournament for a chance to qualify for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA, which begins on Aug. 17.

The New England Regionals tournament begins on Saturday and concludes with the championship next Thursday, Aug. 11. Middleboro opens tournament play against Concord, the New Hampshire representative, Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The game can be streamed on ESPN+ and updates will be posted below throughout the game.

Middleboro defeats Concord, 1-0, at A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, CT on Saturday.

Sixth inning

Middleboro 1, Concord 0.

After 86 total pitches, Concord's Henry Thresher is relieved with one out in the sixth. His final line: 5.1 IP, 0 R, 2 hits, 1 walk and 13 strikeouts.

Gavin Gillpatrick cranked a solo home run to right field, the team's third hit of the day, to put Middleboro ahead, 1-0.

Middleboro pitcher Jayden Murphy is relived with one out in the sixth by Gavin Gillpatrick. His final line: 5.1 IP, 0 R, 2 hits, 4 walks and 9 strikeouts through 85 pitches.

Fifth inning

Middleboro 0, Concord 0.

Middleboro strands two runners in scoring position after Luke Bolduc reached on a fielder's choice and Reece Trottier recorded the team's second hit of the day with a single to center field.

The pitcher's duel between Jayden Murphy and Concord's Henry Thresher continues: Thresher has struck out 12 batters, Murphy eight.

Fourth Inning

Middleboro 0, Concord 0.

Concord pitcher Henry Thresher made a diving stop to rob Middleboro's Shawn Miller of a hit in his first at-bat of the day. Thresher's strikeout count is up to 10, already.

After reaching base on a walk, a fielder's choice advances Concord's Nolan Walsh to second. He then advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Jayden Murphy records his seventh strikeout to conclude the inning.

Third Inning

Middleboro 0, Concord 0.

Replay review determined Jayden Murphy beat out a throw to first base on a ground ball to second, registering Middleboro's first hit of the afternoon.

On the mound, Murphy escapes the inning with a groundout to Gavin Gillpatrick at shortstop after surrounding a walk on a full count, with two outs.

Second Inning

Middleboro 0, Concord 0.

Middleboro's Ayden Morris, Nathan Mello and Luke Bolduc go down swinging as the strikeout count for Concord's Henry Thresher increases to six.

Concord's Will Simms singles, but Middleboro's Jayden Murphy keeps the Concord lineup quiet otherwise.
