LCU sweeps St. Mary's on Chaps' homecoming
Grace Foster scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out seven assists, leading Lubbock Christian University past St. Mary's 60-46 Saturday in Lone Star Conference women's basketball at the Rip Griffin Center.
Maci Maddox and Audrey Robertson scored 10 points apiece for LCU (20-8, 15-5). Shaylee Stovall, Martie McCoy and Carli Bostwick each had eight.
St. Mary's (7-19, 3-17) got 22 points and seven rebounds from Gabby Elliott.
The Lady Chaps finish the regular season with big LSC West Division games against West Texas A&M (20-8, 13-7), on Thursday night in Canyon and on Saturday afternoon in Lubbock.

Russell Harrison had 22 points and eight rebounds and Rowan Mackenzie had 21 points and 10 rebounds, showing the way for Lubbock Christian University in a Lone Star Conference home victory over St. Mary's.
Starting guards Najeeb Muhammad and Aaron Gonzales chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively, as LCU (18-8, 14-6) won for the eighth time in 10 games.
The Chaps withstood a 29-point performance by Caleb Jordan for St. Mary's (14-11, 11-9).
LCU wraps up the regular season against LSC West Division leader West Texas A&M (20-6, 18-2) on Thursday night in Canyon and on Saturday afternoon at the Rip Griffin Center.

PLAINVIEW — Jenna Cooper-Jackson and Kaitlyn Edgemon scored 28 and 23 points, respectively, and Wayland Baptist beat No. 17 Texas Wesleyan to wrap up fourth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference and home court in the first round of the conference tournament.
Wayland (19-9, 15-7) took over fourth place with a victory Thursday against No. 18 University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma and a loss by John Brown. The Flying Queens finished the regular season on a seven-game win streak by beating Texas Wesleyan (24-4, 19-3), the SAC champion.
Ashlyn Shelley and Taryn Shultz added nine points apiece for Wayland. Cooper-Jackson and Edgemon were crediteed with eight and seven assists, respectively.
Kertisa Amos scored 14 for Texas Wesleyan.

PLAINVIEW — Tedrick Wolfe had 20 points and 16 rebounds as Wayland Baptist got past Texas Wesleyan in a Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season finale, bouncing back after having a 10-game win streak snapped in a game Thursday.
Big man D'Michael Bellfield added 18 points and seven rebounds for Wayland (21-7, 16-6), which will be the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament behind No. 5 Langston (25-2, 19-2), which won the SAC by four games. The Pioneers got 10 points apiece from Parrish Hewitt and Reece Spencer.
Peyton Sallee poured in 24 points for Texas Wesleyan (14-14, 11-11).
