Lance Tucker resigns as Bartlett football coach, returns home to coach in Alabama

Lance Tucker announced Monday morning he is resigning as the Bartlett football coach to return home to coach at Demopolis High School in Alabama. Bartlett system athletic director Phil Clark confirmed with The Commercial Appeal.

“We’ve got nothing but good things to say about Lance Tucker and his tenure here at Bartlett,” Clark said.

Tucker, who was 32-15 during his four seasons at Bartlett, led the Panthers to the Class 6A state semifinals this past season, losing to Beech, 50-39.

Tucker moved to Tennessee from Alabama, where he’s originally from, for the Bartlett job in 2019.

He coached at Fayette County in Alabama for eight seasons, leading it to two state championship appearances. He had a 76-31 record while he coached at Fayette County.
