Lanae Riley leads Archbishop Hoban over Villa Angela-St. Joseph in girls basketball

Archbishop Hoban 77, Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph 21
Senior Lanae Riley led the host Knights (2-0) to victory Monday with 22 points and nine rebounds. Riley was the only player on either team to score in double figures.
Emma Rasmussen and Adrena Gordon each scored nine points for Hoban, and Rylee Bennett contributed eight points.
Stow 43, Canfield 38
Alaina Ray scored 11 points and Kristin Chmielewski added 10 to lead the Bulldogs to a nonleague win over the visiting Cardinals.
Woodridge 58, Springfield 40
The Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0) remained unbeaten with an easy Metro win at Springfield. A 20-10 third-quarter run by Woodridge keyed the victory. Anna Rorrer scored 16 points and Cameron Hoover had 12 for Woodridge.
Ellie Gardinier had a game-high 16 points and four 3-pointers for Springfield's (0-3, 0-1).
Barberton 41, Massillon 39
An'Taniyha Easter scored 19 points to lead the Magics past the Tigers.
Hudson 68, Willoughby South 61
The Explorers used balanced scoring to earn a victory at Willoughby South.
Constance Loring led Hudson with 14 points, Delaney DiGeronimo scored 13 points, Kara Lightner contributed 12 points, Ali Menendez had 11 points, Emma Hileman tallied 10 points and Gracie Merrick chipped in eight points.
Northwest 61, Alliance 31
Lily Bottomley had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds to spark host Northwest to a 30-point nonleague win. Ashley Cudnik added 17 points and five steals for Northwest (3-0).
Cloverleaf 57, Streetsboro 53
Laurell Brown poured in 31 points to power the Colts (4-0, 1-0) to a Metro Athletic Conference win. Brown also grabbed 13 rebounds and Tori Smith added 12 points for Cloverleaf.
Naomi Benson scored 14 points and Ella Kassan added 13 for Streetsboro (2-1, 0-1).
BOYS BASKETBALL
Manchester 55, Coventry 46
Kenton Duty scored 12 points to lead the host Panthers (1-0) to a victory. Manchester's Daniel Sensius and Jordan Schindewolf contributed nine points apiece.
