Lake and Sumter high school football scoreboard: 2022 preseason kickoff classics

After grueling summer workouts, hours in the weight room and days of organized practice, some high school football teams in Lake and Sumter counties will finally take the gridiron on Friday night.

From the outside looking in, Friday's games are just preseason classics that don't count for much on paper.

But from the teams' perspective, Week 0 matchups are the first opportunity for guys to hit someone in a different colored jersey — and that alone is reason for excitement for the young players anxious to start the 2022 season.
