Knoxville Mother’s Day Brunch Ideas: Honor mom at one of these favorite restaurants

A flower arrangement, a box of candy, a day at the spa … there are many ways to honor the moms in your life on their special day. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8, but if you’re still looking to make plans, you can never go wrong with a fun brunch – maybe a few mimosas, too.

Featuring various cuisines, locations, and prices, here are just a few of the many options for a delicious Mother’s Day brunch in Knoxville.

Aubrey’s

With 14 locations in the Knoxville and East Tennessee area, Aubrey’s is sure to be a popular spot this Mother’s Day. It offers a variety of menu options, including pastas, fresh seafood, and Southern favorites. The local staple promises “Real Comfort. Real Food. Real Good” and may be a good pick for the whole family to honor the matriarchs.

Bistro by the Tracks

Only the best for mom. Bistro by the Tracks offers a fine dining experience. The upscale, yet casual eatery features gourmet new American cuisine and has an award-winning selection of white and red wines.

Bistro by the Tracks is in Bearden at 215 Brookview Centre Way. Sunday brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are appreciated; call 865-558-9500.

Cancun

This family owned Mexican restaurant has been a South Knoxville staple since 1989 and has a casual atmosphere. Their traditional Mexican cuisine menu includes tamales, burritos, fajitas, and much more. It also has a full bar.

Cancun opens at 11 a.m. and has locations at 4409 Chapman Highway and 4100 Crippen Road.

Chesapeake’s

Featuring a cozy seaside ambiance, Chesapeake’s brings the Eastern shore to Knoxville. The restaurant promises fresh seafood flown in and locally handcrafted brews. Its brunch menu features crab cake benedict, and chicken and waffles. Mom can even enjoy the key lime pie or cheesecake on the dessert menu.

Chesapeake’s has locations downtown on Union Avenue and Parkside Drive in West Knoxville. Brunch is served from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Jackie’s Dream

Feed the soul at this Southern comfort and soul food restaurant. This Black-owned restaurant opened in 2015 and has earned loyal customers through its Southern staples like fried catfish, pork chop, meatloaf, mac and cheese, and collard greens. But Jackie’s Dream is most known for its tangy and spicy Knoxville Hot Chicken.

Jackie’s Dream opens at 11 a.m. and is in North Knoxville on 1008 E. Woodland Ave.

Litton’s

Litton’s is closed on Sundays, but the famous layered cakes, gourmet pies, specialty cheesecakes and other decadent desserts are worth an early Mother’s Day treat. The bakery, restaurant, and market has been a Knoxville favorite for decades and also offers casual dining options like burgers, fries, and sandwiches.

Litton’s is in Fountain City at 2803 Essary Road.

Tennessean Tea

Continue or start a tradition and celebrate Mother’s Day at the Tennessean Hotel with its signature luxury tea services. Tea sandwiches, scones, and cakes will also be served alongside the special tea blend.

Mother’s Day Tea at the Tennessean will by May 7 at noon. Tickets start at $75. Make reservations here.

Seasons Innovative Bar & Grille

If Mom wants more than tea and scones, how about a buffet? Seasons Innovative Bar & Grille, 11605 Parkside Drive, is offering a wide array of options for their Mother’s Day Brunch Buffett. Keep Mother’s Day simple at this quaint spot. Simpl offers classic Southern dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Its brunch options include shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, wraps, and burgers. Mom can also indulge in cocktails, mimosas, or a good cup of brew.

Simpl is located near Suttree Landing Park on 1120 Sevier Avenue. Weekend brunch begins at 10 a.m.

Sunspot

For our vegetarian moms, Sunspot may be a great place to celebrate. Consistently voted a best vegetarian and best brunch spot in local polls, Sunspot blends Southwestern, Caribbean and Latin American cuisines and has a menu featuring soups, salad, sandwiches, and tacos.

Sunspot opens at 11 a.m. and is at 2200 Cumberland Avenue.
