King High School's Dee Rutherford named THSCA Athletic Trainer of the Year
King athletic trainer Dee Rutherford was named the Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Texas High School Coaches Association on Friday.
Rutherford and five other award winners recognized by the THSCA will be honored at the 62nd annual Hall of Honor Induction Banquet at 7 p.m. July 16 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.
The Hall of Honor Banquet will kick off the THSCA Coaching School Convention which is held July 17-19 also at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Following are the 2022 award winners selected by the THSCA.
Trainer of the Year Award — Dee Rutherford, King High School
Putt Powell Award — Matt Diggs, DFW Inside high school sports.
Curly Hays Award — Gary Speed, Permian Basin.
Tom Landry Award — Todd Dodge, Westlake High School
2022 Distinguished Service Award — Anthony Boykin, Stevens High School
2022 AFCA Power of Influence — John King, Longview High School
