Kentucky High School Boys Basketball Media Poll: Two new teams join this week's top 10
The Warren Central High School boys basketball team kept its stranglehold on the No. 1 spot in this week’s Kentucky High School Basketball Media Poll.
The Dragons (24-1) once again received all 16 first-place votes in the poll. Warren Central has a 15-game winning streak entering Tuesday’s game at North Hardin.
Warren Central is followed by Lexington Catholic (26-2), North Oldham (21-5), George Rogers Clark (20-5) and Covington Catholic (22-4) in the top five.
There are two new members of the top 10, with Frederick Douglass (24-2) joining at No. 9 and Evangel Christian (23-4) at No. 10.
Frederick Douglass impressed voters with last Tuesday’s 63-52 victory over George Rogers Clark. Evangel Christian knocked off co-No. 6 Ballard 83-73 on Friday.
Bowling Green and Mason County dropped out of the top 10.
The Kentucky High School Basketball Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists ― one from each of the state’s 16 basketball regions. Along with the statewide top 10, voters will provide top-five rankings for their respective regions.
