Kanye West - live: LeBron James cancels rapper from show after he spouts ‘more hate speech’ at filming

Kanye West continued to air “more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes” during a taping of a new episode of LeBron James’s YouTube talk show Uninterrupted The Shop.

The Shop, which is produced by James and his business manager, Maverick Carter, said in a statement first issued to Andscape on Tuesday that they would be canning the episode taped with Ye this week and would not be disclosing the contents of what was specifically said, but apologised to the crew and guests for “believing Kanye wanted a different conversation”.

“Hate speech should never have an audience,” said Mr Carter.

Leaked video footage from earlier on Tuesday also showed that West reportedly made a string of anti-semitic comments that were edited out of his interview with Tucker Carlson.

The rapper, who remains banned from Twitter and Instagram for a string of separate anti-Semitic posts, also made bizarre statements that “fake children” had been put in his home to manipulate his own children. The controversial fashion mogul also talked about having visions of “kinetic energy” that he is sent by God.

Kanye West episode on Lebron James’ show ‘The Shop’ canned after Ye uses ‘more hate speech'

Kanye West continued to air “more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes” during a taping of a new episode of LeBron James’s YouTube talk show Uninterrupted The Shop.

The Shop, which is produced by the championship-winning NBA star and his business manager, Maverick Carter, said in a statement first issued to Andscape on Tuesday that they would be pulling an episode taped with Ye and would not be disclosing the contents of what was specifically said by the controversial figure.

“Yesterday we taped an episode of The Shop with Kanye West. Kanye was booked weeks ago and, after talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped, I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments,” Mr Carter said in the Tuesday statement, just days after the rapper was locked out of his Twitter and Instagram accounts for posting antisemitic comments. “Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.”

The statement from the executive producer added that the show would not be airing any of the specific comments made during the taping of the episode and that they took “full responsibility” for their error in judgement.

“While The Shop embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions, we have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate,” said Mr Carter. “I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”

According to Andscape, James was not in attendance at the taping of West’s episode, which had been scheduled weeks before the recent controversies involving the rapper had even occurred.

ICYMI: The House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee are facing calls to take down a tweet that celebrated embattled rapper Kanye West.

A tweet from the Republicans on the committee simply read “Kanye. Elon. Trump.” in reference to rapper Kanye West, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump, despite Mr West’s suspension from Twitter and Instagram for antisemitic posts.

The House Judiciary GOP posted the tweet on Thursday. Over the weekend, Mr West was suspended from Twitter and Instagram after claiming on the latter platform that rapper Diddy was under the control of Jewish people, according to the BBC.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a co-host of The View who previously served as a communications aide for Mr Trump, suggested the committee remove the tweet.

ICYMI: American pop artist Ariana Grande shared the since-viral clip of Jamie Lee Curtis tearfully addressing Kanye West’s most recent anti-Semitic social media posts, during which she called them “abhorrent”.

In the clip, where Curtis is being interview by NBC Today host Hoda Kotb, she explains how when she saw the anti-Semitic post from West, she “burst into tears”.

“Death con three on Jewish people? What are you doing? I mean, it’s bad enough that fascism is on the rise around the world, but on Twitter, on a portal, to pour that in as if Jewish people haven’t had it hard enough?” said Curtis, who’s of Hungarian Jewish descent on her father’s side.

Grande also shared a post from Saint Hoax, a pseudonymous name for a Syrian artist and Instagram influencer, where they had photoshopper a collection of tweets that discussed West’s post’s and his mental health.

“It is possible to both recognize Kanye’s mental health challenges and vehemently condemn his foul and dangerous anti-Semitism,” read one of the tweets used in the collage, reshared by Grande.

ICYMI: The Holocaust Museum of Los Angeles extended a public invitation to Kanye West to visit their California-based facility, noting that the musician’s words “reach millions” and he had the choice to either “incite or inspire”.

“Words matter and words have consequences Ye. We urge you to come visit us at Holocaust Museum LA to understand just how words can incite horrific violence and genocides,” the Holocaust Museum L.A. wrote in a statement, first reported by Page Six.

The statement arrives after a chorus of celebrities and political figures across the country have condemned the musician’s comments over the past weekend, which earned him a lockout from his accounts on both Instagram and Twitter.

“The Holocaust started with only words that sadly begat stereotypes, racial and religious tropes and blaming others and led to the murder of six million Jews,” the museum wrote, adding that it was the museum’s mission to commemorate people killed in all genocides from around the world - including the one perpetuated against the Armenian people.

“Of which your children would be included,” the museum noted, highlighting how West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and their children are of Armenian descent.

ICYMI: While most took to condemning Kanye West after he blasted off a series of anti-Semitic posts over the weekend, the message he championed quickly took hold in alt-right circles where he was lauded as a warrior of “cancel culture” gone awry.

Andrew Torba, the CEO of the alt-right microblogging platform Gab, took to Twitter to beckon West to his platform after users had begun calling for a permanent ban on his account.

“How do we get Kanye on Gab?” tweeted Mr Torba, referring to his platform which is well-documented as a gathering space online for neo-Nazis, white supremacists and conspiracy theories such as QAnon.

Candace Owens, a 33-year-old conservative commentator, made her feelings about West’s posts very clear on her Monday podcast and claimed the media was overreacting to his posts, which have since been denounced by the Anti-Defamation League and the Black-Jewish Entertainment Alliance.

“If you are an honest person, you did not think this tweet was antisemitic. You did not think that he wrote this tweet because he hates or wants to genocide Jewish people,” she said, adding that “this does not represent the beginning of the Holocaust”.

“Like Tiananmen Square, Ye West and Candace Owens, standing there in front of the tank which is the international media,” said Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday night, referring to the incident last week where the pair of controversial figures attended a Paris Fashion Week event dressed in “White Lives Matter” t-shirts.

ICYMI: Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita was taken to task for comments he made on Twitter on Sunday, where he appeared to defend Kanye West who he viewed as being the latest victim of a cancel culture gone awry.

“The constant hypocrisy from the media is at an all-time high. They have now gone after Kanye for his new fashion line, his independent thinking, & for having opposing thoughts from the norm of Hollywood,” tweeted the Mr Rokita on Sunday.

He later followed up that tweet in a thread and clarified that his post was in reference to Mr West’s comments about “Hollywood elite” and had nothing to do with the comments the rapper made on Saturday night that got him locked out of Twitter.

“My post was specifically and clearly aimed at the hypocrisy of the media and Hollywood elites, not anything to do with other comments. I have an obvious, clear and substantial Congressional and public record of being 100% supportive of the Jewish community and Israel,” he tweeted in a follow-up message.

Beneath Mr Rokita’s thread, however, many online began questioning the timing of the attorney general’s message of support for West, who had only hours earlier been locked from the platform for his comments.

“You came to Kanye’s defense immediately after he made anti-semitic remarks -- this isn’t complicated,” tweeted Marc Bodnick, while reporter Marisa Kabas tweeted: “hi todd! jew here. can you tell me how extreme antisemitism equals “independent thinking”?”

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman quote tweeted the attorney general and expressed her disdain at the chief legal advisor’s remarks, writing: “Regardless of what motivates Kanye West, an attorney general defending someone for a lengthy public attack on Jews is a new dimension to 2022.”

Kanye West allegedly played a porn film for Adidas executives during a recent business meeting.

On Monday (10 October), the 45-year-old rapper posted a 30-minute long video titled “LAST WEEK” on YouTube.

Around the 10-minute mark, footage showed West, who legally changed his name to Ye, sitting down with Adidas executives on black stools inside an empty room.

Everyone’s faces were blurred out except for Ye’s.

In the clip, the rapper can be seen holding his phone horizontally in front of the executives while a video played.

After a few seconds, one of the men asked: “Is this a porn movie?” to which Ye replied, “Yeah.”

“Jesus Christ,” another person commented.

Ye continued showing the video to the executives until one of them stopped him, saying: “Come on, man. Come on.”

ICYMI: Hollywood actors began pushing back against Kanye West’s comments over the weekend, with some taking to their own social media accounts to share how the famed rapper’s words carry meaning and can “hurt” people and potentially even “incite violence”.

“The holiest day in Judaism was last week. Words matter. A threat to Jewish people ended once in a genocide. Your words hurt and incite violence. You are a father. Please stop,” tweeted American actor Jamie Lee Curtis on Sunday.

Comedian Sarah Silverman called out those in Hollywood outside of the Jewish community who she viewed were staying “silent” on West’s messages, writing: “Kanye threatened the Jews yesterday on twitter and it’s not even trending. Why do mostly only Jews speak up against Jewish hate? The silence is so loud.”

ICYMI: On Friday night, when Kanye West took to Twitter to put Mark Zuckerberg on notice after his Instagram account was restricted for policy violating posts, Tesla founder Elon Musk welcomed the rapper “back to Twitter”.

West had posted an old photo of himself and the Facebook founder on Twitter with a caption that asked: “How you gone kick me off instagram.”

In the comment section below, the SpaceX founder wrote back: “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”

Kanye West releases ‘Last Week’, 30-minute documentary of unaired footage

ICYMI: Kanye West released a 30-minute documentary on Monday morning, which shows his behind-the-scenes business dealings with Adidas executives, teases the release of new music and shows unaired footage of the rapper with his family.

In some of the clips, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, can be seen in tense business meetings with executives and managers at Adidas about his new clothing line with the fashion label.

In another choppy sequence, the Donda artist can be heard teasing new music. In one song, he raps: “You a fake b**ch/You don’t really love Ye, go listen to Drake, b**ch/You don’t have no idea what it take, b**ch/Go listen to Lil Baby, go listen to Future, b**ch.”

Another clip shows West derailing a meeting he took with two executives at Adidas, where he appears to screen a pornographic video for the pair. The executive, who isn’t identified, attempts to maintain control of the meeting, and can he heard saying to West: “Come on.”

In a final clip, West shows an intimate family moment with his daughter North West where he is seen attending one of her basketball games.

A clip in the 30-minute film also shows the entrepreneur speaking with someone on the phone where he appears to be having conversations about brand management.

“It’s time for me to shut the f*** up for the first time, do exactly what everybody’s wanted me to do for the longest.”

Lizzo reacts to West’s comments about her weight

ICYMI: Lizzo has appeared to respond to Kanye West’s comments about her weight.

In a recent Fox News interview, the Donda rapper said that what he saw as the promotion of obesity by social media companies was “demonic”.

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots… on Instagram, they attack her losing weight because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy,” West, who legally changed his name to Ye, told host Tucker Carlson.

During a concert last week- in Toronto, Lizzo appeared to respond back to Ye’s comments, saying: “I feel like everybody in America got my motherf***ing name in their motherf***ing mouth for no motherf***ing reason.

“I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business,” she added.

ICYMI: The House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee have been blasted for keeping up a tweet simply saying “Kanye. Elon. Trump.” in reference to rapper Kanye West, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump, despite Mr West’s suspension from Twitter and Instagram for antisemitic posts.

“Who are three people we really don’t need to hear from ever again, Alex?” one Twitter user said in reference to late Jeopardy host Alex Trebek.

Though the tweet was sent Thursday, prior to Mr West making posts that have been widely acknowledged as anti-Semitic, the official Twitter account for the Republican House Committee on the Judiciary has kept the message up, drawing much ire in the process.

ICYMI: The Anti-Defamation League, an international Jewish NGO specialising in civil rights law, has called out Kanye West for his behaviour and posts over the past week and labelled it “antisemitic. Period”.

“Power. Disloyalty. Greed. Deicide. Blood. Denial. Anti-Zionism. All of these are antisemitic tropes that we break down in our #AntisemitismUncovered Guide at https://antisemitism.adl.org. Many of these myths have influenced @KanyeWest‘s comments recently, and it’s dangerous,” the anti-hate group tweeted on Sunday, less than a day after the rapper was locked out of his Twitter account for posts that were widely deemed antisemitic.

Earlier, the group had tweeted more explicitly about the artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and his messages being “deeply troubling”.

“The behavior exhibited this week by @kanyewest is deeply troubling, dangerous, and antisemitic, period. There is no excuse for his propagating of white supremacist slogans and classic #antisemitism about Jewish power, especially with the platform he has,” the group tweeted on Friday.

ICYMI: Late on Friday night, Kanye West posted an old photo of himself and Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter with a caption that asked: “How you gone kick me off instagram.”

The swipe at the Facebook founder arrived after a post from the rapper had been deleted and his account restricted after he shared a post that Meta said was “violating our policies”.

That post in question was one where West had shared a screenshot of a purported text conversation with Sean “Diddy” Combs on his Instagram page. The post suggested that Combs was being controlled by Jewish people and has since been taken down. It was quickly condemned by the American Jewish Committee, an anti-hate group, who slammed West for his “dangerous” and anti-Semitic comments on their Instagram page.

ICYMI: Fox News hosts conceded that Kanye West’s post directed at Jewish people was “ugly” and “condemnable”, making a swift on-air U-turn shortly after supporting the rapper.

Fox News hosts Will Cain and Pete Hegseth along with co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy defended West on Sunday after he was suspended from Instagram for posts that were condemned as anti-Semitic.

While Cain and Hegseth said they did not see the posts because they were censored, Campos-Duffy who saw the posts said it was “totalitarian” and “anti-American” for Instagram to delete them.

Hegseth said the rapper would not have been suspended had he not appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show earlier this week.

Yet, after speaking in his defence in an earlier part of the segment, the Fox & Friends Weekend hosts returned to the television screens with a very different perspective after coming to know what he had actually posted.

“We talked about it earlier without knowing about these tweets and saying of course they’re going to put a target, after what he said with Tucker, there’s going to be a target, no doubt,” Hegseth said. “But in this particular case, he brought the target.”

On his Infowars show on Sunday evening, the right-wing conspiracy theorist discussed the rapper wearing a “White Lives Matter” during a Paris fashion show.

“So Kanye West comes out and wears a White Lives Matter shirt. We sold shirts that said All Lives Matter. Said Black Lives Matter. Brown Lives Matter. Yellow Lives Matter. White Lives Matter,” Jones said on the show.

“And what he said is ‘I figured this is something God would want.’ Which, absolutely, I’ll wear a shirt that says Black Lives Matter, except I don’t want to be connected to the left, but I’ll still wear it because all lives matter.”

And he added: “He did that to bring unity and stop the division and go against the system. He has a lot of courage. The whole point is we woke up Kanye West, folks. That doesn’t mean Alex E Jones did that. It means all of you did that.”

The All of Me singer is a former friend of the hip-hop star and has spoken publicly about the end of that friendship.

Legend told The New Yorker magazine in September that Kanye fell out with him when the musician publicly supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election and not the rapper.

“I don’t want to live a life that’s so consumed by politics that it’s the sole determinant of who can be my friend and who can’t. But values matter and character matters and moral compass matters,” he told the magazine.

Kanye West defended wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt he debuted at Paris Fashion Week during a Thursday (6 October) appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

“My so-called friends/handlers around me told me if I said that I liked Trump that my career would be over. That my life would be over,” the artist now known as Ye told the Fox News host.

“They said stuff like people get killed for wearing a hat like that. They threatened my life,” he continued. “They basically said that I would be killed for wearing the hat.

“I had someone call me last night and said anybody wearing a ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt is going to be green-lit. That means they are going to beat them up if I wear it. I’m like, you know, ‘Okay, green light me then’.”

On the heels of having his Instagram restricted after sharing anti-Semitic posts, Kanye West has now violated Twitter’s rules with an anti-Semitic tweet that’s since been removed and prompted calls to “permanently ban” him from the platform.

He’s also been locked from using the platform.

Late on Saturday night, Mr West shared a tweet that declared he was going to go “death con 3” on Jewish people and alleged that he wasn’t “Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew.” The tweet was removed by Twitter and replaced with text that said it violated the Twitter Rules, linking back to the company’s platform use guidelines.

“Stop excusing Kanye West with ‘mental health problems.’ He needs a permanent ban for his antisemitic tweet and to be fully exiled for spreading this hateful rhetoric,” wrote writer Monisha Rajesh.
