GARDNER — Jonathan Lind, the boyfriend of Julia Enright — the Ashburnham woman convicted of murder last month — has been ordered held on $25,000 bail after his arraignment on accessory charges.

Lind is accused of helping Enright dispose of the body of Brandon Chicklis of Westminster. Lind is charged with accessory after the fact and disinterring a body.

The slaying occurred in 2018 in Ashburnham. A Worcester County jury convicted Enright of murder on Nov. 29.

Lind, of Ashburnham, was arrested Friday and arraigned Monday morning in Winchendon District Court, now part of Gardner District Court.

Chicklis’ body was found wrapped in trash bags and blankets on the side of Route 119 in Rindge, New Hampshire, in July, 2018. He was last seen alive two weeks earlier.

At her trial, Enright claimed she killed Chicklis in self-defense and testified that Lind assisted her in disposing Chicklis's body.

At the Monday arraignment, Lind's lawyer Kevin C. Larson, said Enright's words were unreliable because she spoke in her own best interests.

"The government sat on these charges for three and a half years because it's extremely weak. They do not have a case. The only thing that's changed is Enright testifying at her trial," Larson said.

Dressed in plain clothes and wearing a face mask, Lind looked on stoically as his attorney spoke for him at the arraignment.

Lind lives with his mother and stepfather in Ashburnham.

Larson argued against the bail amount, stating that Lind and his family have limited income and that Lind was let go from his job prior to the Enright trial.

"He's not a flight risk," Larson said. "Since the incident, he's made three in-person statements, he's testified in front of a grand jury."

Lind's stepfather is battling cancer, which adds to their financial constraints, according to Larson.

If Lind is released on bail, he will be monitored via GPS. He has been ordered to have no contact with witnesses in the Enright trial or the family of the victim.

He faces prison time of up to seven years for the accessory charge and up to three years for disinterment.
