- It's time for Word on the Street, where we check in with our panelists, find out what stories they are watching. Julia, Joe Biden had an interesting phone call he told us about yesterday with Warren Buffett.

JULIA LA ROCHE: Yeah. So Joe Biden was at a virtual fundraiser on Wednesday, and revealed that he had just gotten off the phone with Warren Buffett. According to Bloomberg's National Politics Reporter Tyler Pager, here's exactly what Biden said.

He said, quote, "We have to refuse to postpone what America has to do, the work we have to do. There's nothing beyond our capacity, for God's sake. Just got off the phone with Warren Buffett, in talking about how we have a position, unlike we were 50, 70, 80 years ago, to lead the whole damn world in a way that no one else can. There is no limit to America's future. The only thing that's going to tear America apart is America itself."

[? Julie, ?] I have to say a lot of that echoes what we hear from Warren Buffett, it seems like, almost on a yearly basis in the annual letter, if you look at it. He's always been a cheerleader for the United States of America, and often, in the past, has said, look, this is the best time to be born, the luckiest people in the world are the crop of babies being born in the US.

Buffett's long been bullish on the prospects, even given everything we are going through with the coronavirus pandemic and the recession. When he was speaking just back in May at that virtual annual meeting, even going through the great problems that the country's gone through in the past, always, always upbeat on America.

- And you have to wonder what Joe Biden having a conversation with one of the most successful capitalists in the world will do to some of the critics who say that he's too far to the left. We'll see if there's more from Buffett to come when it comes to Joe Biden.
