Jameson Williams, former Alabama football WR, 'ahead of schedule' in return from ACL surgery
Former Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams is ahead of the original five- to seven-month schedule doctors set for his return to football.
"Hopefully things keep going on this track and we'll be back as soon as possible," Williams said at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, where he is meeting with teams. He is unable to participate as he recovers from injury..
Williams is only six weeks removed from surgery and has been walking without a brace and crutches for the past two weeks.
Williams tore his ACL in the College Football Playoff Championship, where Alabama lost to Georgia, 33-18. Williams caught four passes for 65 yards.
According to multiple NFL Draft experts, Williams is projected to be a first-round selection in April's draft.
"I won't be rushing anything, but really it's going to take time," Williams said. "I just want to be ready when it does happen."
