Indio police arrest man in connection with non-injury shooting inside Neil's Lounge
Indio police identified the Imperial Beach man who was arrested in connection with a non-injury shooting inside Neil’s Lounge on Thursday.
Officers responded to a call about a discharged gun at the 80-950 block of Highway 111 around 12:04 a.m. on Feb. 17, the Indio Police Department said in a press release. Police said there had been a confrontation between patrons when Michael Carson, 44, fired his gun and left the lounge before police arrived.
Security footage and witnesses identified Carson as the shooter. Police, with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, secured a perimeter of the surrounding area and located him, police said.
Carson was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling and multiple weapon violations, police said. He posted $25,000 bail and is scheduled for court on April 25 at the Larson Justice Center, jail records show.
