Immokalee High School's Innovation Center is open to students. Here's some fast facts.
The Innovation Center at Immokalee High School had its dedication ceremony Thursday, and the first set of students are attending class in the new building.
Freddy Angeles, a senior in the center's engineering academy, said he's sad he won't be able to enjoy the Innovation Center as long as other students.
"But I am hopeful that the new students, the generation that's going to come is going to be able to enjoy this building to the maximum," Angeles said. "Being in this building, it adds a spark of hope for all the new students to come."

The building has 39,305 square feet of air-conditioned space.
How much did the Innovation Center cost?
Approximately $16 million.
What types of rooms are in the Innovation Center?
On the first floor the following academies have specialized rooms:
Criminal Justice
Aviation
Finance
Health Sciences
Information Technology
Engineering
On the second floor are 20 traditional classrooms. There are two teacher planning rooms and the courtyard expands lunch seating and collaboration spaces for group projects.
What are some special features of the Innovation Center?

How many students will there be using the Innovation Center?
Approximately 500 of the school's 2,062 students will have a class in the Innovation Center.
Quick facts about Immokalee High School
One of seven comprehensive high schools in the Collier County School District, Immokalee High is located in an agricultural community with a large migrant population. The town of Immokalee has about 24,000 people with 75% of the population Hispanic and the other 25% white, Black and other races.

The school received a C rating for the 2021-22 school year and has been ranked a C school for the past three years.
The graduation rate ranges from 88% to 93%.
