Illinois' Trent Frazier, Andre Curbelo sit out due to injury vs. Jackson State basketball
Illinois Fighting Illini guards Trent Frazier, Andre Curbelo and Austin Hutcherson all sat out Tuesday's game vs. Jackson State men's basketball due to injuries.
Big Ten Network broadcaster Kevin Kugler said Frazier is out due to a shoulder injury that he suffered in Illinois' exhibition game against Indiana (Pennsylvania) on Oct. 29.
Brian Barnhart said on the Illinois radio broadcast that Curbelo is in concussion protocol and that Hutcherson suffered a tailbone injury.
Curbelo, Frazier and Hutcherson were all wearing street clothes and on the Illini bench Tuesday night. Frazier and Curbelo were both expected to be starters for the Illini this season.
Tuesday's game is the season opener for both Illinois and Jackson State.
The Illinois Fighting Illini defeated Jackson State 71-47.
Jackson State went to 0-1 overall. Illinois improved to 1-0 overall.
