Hyundai is bringing jobs to Savannah. So are Hyundai suppliers. Here is who is coming.

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America opened in October and while production has begun, HMGMA will need a host of suppliers to help manufacture auto parts for electric vehicles that will be assembled at the plant.

The facility, announced in May 2022, is the largest economic development project in Georgia history, representing a $5.5 billion investment and promising 8,500 jobs.

More than a dozen suppliers announced they would build a facility in Georgia and more are expected to locate in the area to support the plant.

Here's the Hyundai suppliers list thus far.

Hanon Systems

On May 24, 2023, Hanon Systems, a supplier who specializes in automotive climate control systems announced a planned facility in Bulloch County. The South Korean company makes parts for multiple automakers, including General Motors, which named Hanon as 2022 supplier of the year. Hanon already supplies Hyundai with parts at the automaker's factories in West Point, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama.

Investment and jobs: $40 million and 160 jobs.

Location: Gateway Regional Industrial Park near Statesboro.

Joon Georgia

On Nov. 7, 2022, automobile frame manufacturer Joon Georgia Inc. announced a planned manufacturing facility in Bulloch County. Joon Georgia Inc. is part of Ajin USA, which is already a supplier for several Hyundai Motor Group facilities.

Investment and jobs: $317 million and 600-plus jobs.

Location: Bruce Yawn Commerce Park, seven miles outside Statesboro.

Hyundai Mobis

Just three weeks after Joon Georgia’s announcement, Hyundai Mobis one of the world’s biggest auto suppliers, committed to build a facility in Bryan County. Mobis makes EV power electric systems and integrated charging controls.

Investment and jobs: $926 million and 1,500-plus jobs.

Location: Belfast Commerce Park off Belfast-Keller Road in southern Bryan County.

Ecoplastic Corporation

On Jan. 5, Korea-based Ecoplastic announced it would build consoles, bumpers and other parts at a Bulloch County manufacturing facility.

Investment and jobs: $205 million and 450-plus jobs.

Location: U.S. 301, 10 miles south of Statesboro.

Seoyon E-HWA

Chatham County got its first Hyundai supplier Feb. 1 in Seoyon E-HWA. The company specializes in interior and exterior components such as headlinings and bumpers.

Investment and jobs: $76 million and 700-plus jobs.

Location: Savannah Chatham Manufacturing Center near Bloomingdale.

Sewon America

On Feb. 21, Kemp announced Sewon America would build a new manufacturing facility in Rincon. Sewon America first came to the U.S. in 2008 to Lagrange and has since doubled in size. It is one of the biggest auto body parts plants in the U.S. Production is slated to begin in 2025.

Investment and jobs: $300 million plus, 740 jobs

Location: Grande View Industrial Park in Rincon

PHA

The company is a tier-1 auto parts supplier for Hyundai and Kia among others and has multiple facilities in the U.S. The new manufacturing facility will produce door modules, tailgate latches and more. Operations are expected to begin in 2024.

Investment and jobs: $67 million plus, 402 jobs

Location: Savannah Manufacturing Center in Chatham County

Daechang Seat Corp. USA

Daechang Seat Corp. USA specializes in automotive seat frames. Recognized as one of the largest seat frame producers in the world, the company has more than 5,000 employees in seven countries.

Investment and jobs: $72.5 million, more than 570 jobs

Location: Savannah Chatham Manufacturing Center

Daesol Ausys

Established in 2017, the company designs and manufactures motor and electric vehicle interior components and accessories and is a key supplier for Kia Georgia, Hyundai Motor Group and General Motors.

Investment and jobs: $72 million, more than 140 jobs

Location: Northwest Harris Business Park in Harris County

Das Corp.

Located in the Candler County Industrial Park, the company will manufacture seating systems, safety seating components and seating structures.

Investment and jobs: $35 million, 300 jobs

Location: Metter

Doowon Climate Control America, Inc.

Doowon Climate Control America, Inc. will also be located in the Candler County Industrial Park and will produce automotive climate control systems.

Hyundai Industrial Co., Ltd.,

The Hyundai and Kia supplier specializes in car seats, arm rests and head rests.

Investment and jobs: $24 million, 100 jobs

Location: Coweta County

Kyungshin America Corp.

The Hyundai supplier will manufacture automotive wire harnesses for traditional and electric vehicles.

Hwashin

A Tier-1 supplier with multiple facilities around the globe, Hwashin will plant roots in Dublin and build a facility that will craft chassis and body parts.

NVA Korea

The Hyundai supplier will produce batteries for electric vehicles.

Seohan Auto Georgia

The supplier will manufacture H/shafts, axles and brake systems for Hyundai.

Investment and jobs: $72 million, 180 jobs
