Through September 30, 2022, you can get World of Hyatt® points at a 30% discount when you purchase 3,000 or more points. Is buying Hyatt bonus points now worth it? In short — yes. If you plan to stay at a Hyatt and want to take advantage of the best deal it offers, now is the time to buy. Here’s how the Hyatt 30% discount on points works and why it’s such a good deal.

Is Now a Good Time To Buy Hyatt Points?

The short answer is yes. Hyatt points usually sell for 2.4 cents per point. With the 30% discount, they are now available for 1.68 cents per point. Based on Hyatt’s points chart, the most you will ever pay in points for a Hyatt hotel is 45,000 points for a Category 8 standard room in a 5-star hotel. That amounts to $756 with the current 30% discount.

With the discount, you only pay $756 for one of its most-wanted rooms by using 45,000 points. Right now, for example, a standard room at the Park Hyatt New York in Midtown Manhattan starts at around $900 per night. That is a savings of $144 before taxes if you use 45,000 discounted points to book the room.

If you use the points wisely, you can earn even more savings with your purchased points.

Do World of Hyatt Points Expire or Have Blackout Dates?

World of Hyatt points expire after 24 months of inactivity on your account. Luckily, if you buy or earn any points before the 24-month mark, the counter starts all over again. Getting points by purchasing them, earning them, or transferring them from programs like Chase Ultimate Rewards® count towards activity in your account.

Points do not have blackout dates, regardless of how you get them. But, there are some capacity limits at Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

You can also transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt. Note that you will have to spend $3,000 in the first three months of account opening on your personal card or $5,000 in the first three months on a business card to earn bonus points on World of Hyatt credit cards.

How To Buy Hyatt Points at a 30% Discount

Take advantage of this opportunity by visiting World of Hyatt’s “Purchase Bonus Points” page. You can purchase 3,000+ points, up to a maximum of 55,000 points, by September 30th at the discounted rate. The discount will automatically apply.
