Hospice of Wichita Falls prepares for Tree of Lights unveiling
For the last 37 years, Hospice has provided care and support to the community of Wichita Falls; and one unique fundraiser that the nonprofit organization puts on every year is the Tree of Lights.
The Tree of Lights is a Christmas tree that stands on top of the Southwest Building off Kemp Street. Beginning Nov. 22, the tree will be on display and is lit except for the star on top. If Hospice reaches their fundraising goal they will light up the star.
Each year, Hospice raises money through donations from the community which all go toward helping patients and their families afford the care they need; this way no family or patient is turned away.
Guest speaker Reagan Foster spoke on how Hospice helped her and her family, when her loved one (Midwestern State University Women's late Head Basketball Coach Noel Johnson) was battling cancer.
"Hospice found a way for her team, which were her kids, to come and have a last team meal before they headed to the conference tournament."
Reagan Foster
"Hospice found a way to have friends and family come and stay with her... This is a special place, and they've done really special things and the good news is that they're going to continue to do that."
Reagan Foster
Hospice will have their tree lighting event on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 and a radio day at Hospice on Friday, December 16.
