Taunton Eagles to host Holy Ghost feast
Get ready to go to the festa this weekend! Taunton Eagles, 29 Oak St., is holding a Holy Ghost Feast from June 2 to 4. Admission is free, and the weekend will be full of food, beer, wine, raffles, prizes, and live music. On Friday, June 2, the feast kicks off at 6 p.m. and goes until midnight, with The Capitalists performing at 7 p.m. On Saturday, June 3, things kick off again at 6 p.m. and run until midnight, with a grupo folclórico performing traditional Portuguese folk dances at 6 p.m., and a performance from Mauricio Morais and band at 7:30 p.m. The procession starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 4. Sopas will be served following the procession at 11:30 a.m., and Nadia Pavao & the Karma Band will be performing from 6 to 10 p.m. Be sure to check Taunton Eagles’ Facebook page for the latest updates.
Cornhole tournament at The Jockey Club
On Sunday, June 11, put your cornhole skills to the test at The Jockey Club, 115 New State Highway, Raynham. They’ll be hosting a tournament, staring at 11:30 a.m. Doors open at 11, and there is a $50 entrance fee (80% cash payout). If over 20 teams sign up, there will be a split bracket between competitive and social. This event is kid-friendly, featuring Ryan’s Family Amusements arcade and bowling. National Charter 957 closed for summer season
Other local places are gearing up for the summer season, but for now, The National Charter 957, 9 Taunton Green, is closed up for the summer. They shut down for the summer season on May 21, and announced on their Facebook page that they’ll be back Sept. 6.

Toasted Coconut is back at Tom and Jimmy’s
When it comes to the flavors of summer, one almost instantly thinks of ice cream. And if there’s a certain kind of ice cream you’ve been craving, we’ve got good news: Tom and Jimmy’s, 337 Winthrop St., has announced that Toasted Coconut is back. It’s available at all three of their locations.
Tropical Llama now has rotisserie chicken
Raynham’s Tropical Llama, 1470 New State Highway, has started serving up rotisserie chicken. Order ahead, and for $20 you get a whole chicken. Or you can opt for the meal deal: it’s $35, and you get a whole chicken, a two-liter Pepsi, and a choice of two sides. Choose from rice, fries, tostones, maduros, or yuca fries.
