HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Hingham boys hockey team wins Ferreira Classic title
Winning a championship in late February is hopefully a sign of things to come for the Hingham High boys hockey team.
On Thursday, the Harbormen won the Buddy Ferreira Classic with a 6-1 victory over Austin Prep. It's the first time Hingham has won the tournament since 2009, which was coach Tony Messina's first as head coach.
Bobby Falvey was named tournament MVP and goaltender Luke Merian was named to the all-tournament team. Duxbury's Brendan Bonner, Archbishop Williams' Shamus O'Toole and BC High's Ryan Flaherty earned all-tournament team honors.
Falvey scored two goals in the final while Connor Walsh, Shay Crean, Chase McKenna and Sean Garrity had solo tallies.
