HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Dennis-Yarmouth girls basketball records fifth win

The Dennis-Yarmouth girls basketball team picked up their fifth win with a balanced scoring effort against Monomoy, 58-12.

Four different Dolphins notched at least 8 points. D-Y was led by Savannah Azoff's 11 points.

Chloe Azoff finished with 10, and both Grace Presswood and Jaylene Pires chipped in 8.

Girls Basketball

Rockland 53, Mashpee 39: The Falcons (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season to Rockland. Hialeah Turner-Foster led the Falcons offensively with 16 points in the loss.

St. John Paul II 50, Nantucket 35: Maggie Crofford led all scorers with 19 to help the Lions beat the Whalers. Devin Crofford and Michaela Enright each also finished in double figures for the Lions, finishing with 11 and ten respectively.

Boys Basketball

Cape Tech 53, Sturgis East 40: The Crusaders improve to 4-1 after beating the Storm (0-4).

Martha's Vineyard 51, Sturgis West 28: Sam Zack finished with 11 points to lead the Vineyarders to their seventh win in eight games. Nate Story added 8 points in the win.

Rockland 60, Mashpee 47: The Falcons drop to 3-5 on the season.

Upper Cape 46, Diman 44: The Rams emerged victorious in overtime to improve to 3-2.

Girls Swimming

Bridgewater-Raynham 81, Barnstable 64: The Red Hawks (0-2) performance was highlighted by the 400 yard freestyle relay team, Ava Bullock, Carly Steenstra, Alexis Garthee and Sherri Danforth, who collectively qualified for South Sectionals with a time of 4:12.40.

St. John Paul II 106, Martha's Vineyard 27: Emily McGrail, Chloe Lawson, and Sophie Menyhart swept the podium in the 100 yard breast stroke to help propel the Lions to the victory over Martha's Vineyard.

Boys Swimming

Bridgewater-Raynham 99, Barnstable 33: Jeremy Bullock was the standout performer for the Red Hawks (0-2) in the loss. He took first place in the 100 yard breast stroke and second in the 200 yard individual medley.

Martha's Vineyard 93, St. John Paul II 53: The Vineyarders took the win over the Lions. Dylan Coyle finished first in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard fly.
