Volleyball: Watertown finishes off weekend sweep of Rapid City schools
Watertown High School's volleyball team posted 3-0 wins over Rapid City Central and Stevens over the weekend in the Civic Arena.
On Saturday afternoon, the Arrows (6-4) downed Central 25-15, 25-11 and 25-11. Watertown opened the weekend with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19 and 25-15) over Rapid City Stevens on Friday night.
Against Central, Kendall Paulson went 15-17 serving with two aces and seven kills and Emily Tisher added five kills, 10 digs and one solo and one block assist for lead Watertown. Grace Corey was 17-18 serving with three aces and 13 assists. Eve Hauger contributed five kills, Carter Jurrens five kills and two block assists, Miranda Falconer 10 assists, Emery Thury one solo and three block assists and Maddy Rohde seven digs.
Against Stevens, Falconer went 19-20 serving with three aces and 12 assists, Tisher 11-11 serving with an ace and 10 kills and Corey 9-10 serving with an ace, 23 assists and 10 digs.
Hauger contributed eight kills and five block assists, Jurrens seven kills and five block assists, Thury six kills and four block assists , Rohde 22 digs and Paulson 10 digs.
The Arrows visit No. 1 Class AA Sioux Falls O'Gorman on Tuesday.

Arlington Invitational: Top-rated Class B Warner (10-1) suffered its first loss of the season but still won a tiebreaker to win the Arlington Invitational on Saturday. Warner, Elkton-Lake Benton and Burke each went 4-1 on the day. Deubrook Area finished 2-3, Arlington 1-4 and Faulkton Area 0-5.

Clark-Willow Lake Tournament: Estelline-Hendricks (9-1 overall) went 4-0 to top a 10-team field in the Clark-Willow Lake Tournament on Saturday in Clark. Redfield and Webster Area each went 3-1.
Clark-Willow Lake, Deuel, Aberdeen Christian, De Smet, Wilmot, Great Plains Lutheran and Hithcock-Tulare also competed. Complete results were not available.
Big East Conference Tournament: Sioux Valley (5-3) defeated Flandreau 18-25, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-17 to claim the consolation championship in the Big East Conference tournament that concluded Saturday in Chester.
Sioux Valley leaders included Adison Renkly with 16 kills, Ashley Bjerke 22 aces and three blocks, Talya Vincent 19 digs, Kaedyn Sapp 11 digs, Landree Wilson seven kills and Sunny Hesby 12 assists.
Chester Area downed McCook Central-Montrose 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20 in the championship. Baltic took third with a 25-18, 24-26, 28-26, 23-25 and 15-11 win over Garretson and Beresford topped Parker 18-25, 25-20, 25-27, 25-18 and 26-14 for seventh place.
Northwestern 3, Madison 0: Northwestern improved to 6-3 with a 25-19, 25-12 and 25-22 win over Madison, Ella Haven produced 21 kills, Brooklinn Halverson 28 assists and Payton Grandpre 14 digs and three aces for the Wildcats.

Hamlin 3, Milbank 2: Hamlin overcame a late fourth-set deficit to stay unbeaten with a 25-21, 19-25, 15-25, 27-25 and 15-11 Northeast Conference win.
The Chargers (4-0, 2-0) were led by Gracelyn Leiseth with 20 kills and two block assists, Emily Everson 15 kills, Addie Neuendorf 11 kills and 20 digs, Jayci Trowbridge four aces, Marissa Bawdon two aces and Kami Wadsworth 46 assists, 15 digs and two block assists.
Rachel Schulte tallied 15 kills, 19 digs and five aces for Milbank (3-1, 3-1). Josie Andersen tallied nine assists and two aces, Harley Hennings six kills and five digs, Emma Sattler four kills and two blocks, Gracie Fieber seven assists, Annika Kriz six digs, Emma Hamann four digs and McKenna Olson two blocks for Deuel.
The Braves (1-5, 1-2) were led by Alyssa James with two aces, two blocks and three kills; Sterling Brassfield three kills; Jayden Bender seven assists; Heather Storbakken four assists; Katee Freeman 13 digs; and Keagan Fredrickson six digs.
Redfield 3, Sisseton 1: Gracie Fast smacked 13 kills and Katie Rozell 10 to power Redfield to the 25-19, 25-12, 21-25 and 25-12 Northeast Conference win. Rozell also had four solo blocks and one block assists.
Mallory Smith chipped in with three aces, Camryn Rohlfs 31 assists and Chloe Zens 20 digs for Redfield (4-1 overall and 3-0 in the NEC).
Sisseton fell to 2-4 and 0-3.
Warner 3, Northwestern 1: Top-rated Class B Warner improved to 10-0 by beating the second-ranked Wildcats 25-14, 28-30, 25-16 and 25-17.
Lauren Marcuson (three aces, 17 kills and 15 digs), Kyra Marcuson (17 kills), Ava Nilsson (46 assists and nine digs), Kami Anderson (nine kills) and Courtney Bjorgaard (29 digs) paced the Monarchs.
Ella Haven had 17 kills, 18 digs and one solo and three block assists for Northwestern (5-3). Ashley Haven added seven kills and 12 digs, Brooklinn Halverson 24 assists and four kills, Ella Boekelheide 12 digs and Kyara Ratigan three block assists.
Waubay-Summit 3, Waverly-South Shore 2: Waubay-Summit (2-5) prevailed 25-18, 30-32, 25-12, 20-25 and 15-9 over the 1-6 Coyotes.

Huron improved to 7-0 with a 3-1 Eastern South Dakota Conference victory over Watertown on Tuesday night in the Civic Arena.
The host Arrows (4-4) won the opening set 25-19 before the Tigers rebounded to win the final three sets 25-19, 25-18 and 25-22.
Emily Tisher smacked 14kills to lead the Arrows. Kendall Paulson added two aces and 23 digs, Emery Thury two aces and five kills, Grace Corey 18 assists, Miranda Falconer 13 assists, Eve Hauger two solo and four block assists, Carter Jurrens two solo and five block assists and Maddy Rohde 14 digs.
Watertown hosts Rapid City Stevens at 7 p.m. Friday and Rapid City Central at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the Civic Arena.
Castlewood 3, Waverly Shore 0: The Warriors (5-1) cruised to 25-7, 25-4 and 25-5 set victories. Castlewood leaders included Mackenzie Everson with four assists and eight kills, Lyndsey Archer five aces and seven digs, Maddie Horn six aces, Gracie Haug 18 assists and Cassidy Kirwan and Emerson Carter three kills apiece.
Emily Heuer made four assists, Lily Revalee three kills and Bridget Eschen 11 digs for the Coyotes (0-5).
