The 2023 Thunder Over Louisville Official Broadcast Partners are WAVE and MIX 106.9, who will broadcast the show live.

The theme of this year’s Thunder Over Louisville will be Through the Decades, as the popular air show that opens Kentucky Derby Festival events will look back to the beginning.
One of the country’s top fireworks displays and air shows, Thunder Over Louisville will light up the Louisville skyline for its 34th year. The daylong event is set for Saturday, April 22, at Waterfront Park. The air show beings at 3 p.m. and the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

How to watch Thunder Over Louisville on TV
If you are spending Thunder at home, you can watch the entirety of Thunder Over Louisville on WAVE on Saturday starting at 3 p.m. WAVE will be out in force covering the Kentucky Derby Festival event for a special live edition of the air show and fireworks.
The official broadcast coverage includes coverage of the aircraft in this year's air show, the full uninterrupted fireworks show, and the official soundtrack along with stories you won't see anywhere else.

How to listen to Thunder Over Louisville on the radio
One of the things that makes Thunder Over Louisville so magical each year is the soundtrack broadcast from the Thunder sound system around the venue, and on MIX 106.9 during the fireworks show.
If you aren't within earshot of the many thunder sound towers throughout the venue, tune your radio to MIX 106.9 to hear a live feed of the soundtrack during the fireworks show.
In 2011, the Kentucky Derby Festival conducted an economic impact study that determined Thunder Over Louisville generated more than $56 million for the local economy, so it's a big day for Louisville, whether you participate in person or at home.
