If sleeping in unconventional places and college football is your thing, you’re in luck.
Beginning Oct. 15, you and one guest will be able to request to book the iconic Goodyear Blimp on Airbnb for one-night stays in its hangar in Mogadore, Ohio, on Oct. 22, 23, or 24 before it takes off for Michigan Stadium to catch aerial coverage of the Michigan Wolverines versus the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Oct. 26.
It’s the first time ever that the Goodyear Blimp is welcoming overnight guests, and the gondola, or interior cabin, has been outfitted with a bed, sitting area and displays football memorabilia.
The Goodyear hangar, which is the size of 2.6 football fields, has been revamped for the occasion. With the optimum home-entertainment experience in mind, an entire living room set up has been constructed and includes a bar, couch, TV, cooler, and coffee station for you and three friends to enjoy.
Unfortunately, the $150 a night stay does not come with a ride in the blimp, but it does include priority lounge seating for two at Michigan’s stadium and a lakefront spot with Midwest tailgate essentials like a grill, cozy fire pit and cornhole boards for a little pre-game friendly competition with your guest.
Earlier this year, the Goodyear Blimp become the first non-player or coach to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as an honorary member. As college football celebrates its 150th anniversary, Goodyear has been providing aerial game coverage in 1955 and since then has soared above marquee sports and entertainment events more than 2,000 times since.
