Good Grief! Winnacunnet High School brings Charlie Brown to the stage
HAMPTON — The Winnacunnet High School drama club brought "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" to life on the stage last weekend.
The spring musical took place both Friday and Saturday night. A matinee of the show took place Sunday.
Based on the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schultz, “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” was written by Clark Gesner.
It explores life through the eyes of Charlie Brown, played by Sam Hackett, and his friends, as they play baseball, struggle with homework, send Valentines, sing songs, and share friendship.
Director Patrick Moore said it was great to welcome people back to live theatre.
"It has been quite the journey over the past two years," he stated. "...Through all of these changes and challenges, the students have demonstrated resilience, flexibility, and a positive attitude. We have been so happy to be able to find creative ways to allow these students to continue to be involved in the arts. I have been reminded again and again what a passion so many students have for the arts, and that for many, it is how they fit in, how they belong, and how they survive a very challenging high school experience."
The cast included Anna Murray as Sally Brown, Eva Sanborn as Luc van Pelt, Shannon Swain as Snoopy, Jackson Clifford as Schroeder and Quinn MacNeil as Linus van Pelt.
Peppermint Patty was played by Allie Hoffmeier, Marcie by Kat Rosa, Frieda by Kiah Telheiro and Violet by Katrina Pereira.
Rounding out the cast were Alexa Bowden as Woodstock and Adam Cooper as Pig Pen.
The ensemble included Julianna Falzarano, Abigail Hansen, Sofia Lanphere, Chelon Le, Lilli Marchi, Lilli Marchi and Haley Sanborn.
