Giants’ Tyrod Taylor carted to locker room after taking big hit
It’s the final preseason game of 2022, and the New York Giants already have a laundry list of injuries. The Giants opted not to play starting quarterback Daniel Jones today, likely in light of the offensive line injuries, so Tyrod Taylor got the nod. Unfortunately, toward the end of the first quarter, Taylor took a big hit.
Taylor was leading the Giants on a drive when he scrambled to the right after coming under pressure. New York Jets defensive end Michael Clemons. At 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, Clemons is considerably larger than Taylor’s 6-foot-1, 217-pound frame.
Taylor managed to jog off the field but was taken to the medical tent for further evaluation and eventually carted to the locker room with an apparent back injury.

Taylor has been in the NFL since 2011 but has largely been a backup save for his three years with the Buffalo Bills. Slated to continue his role as a backup with the Giants doesn’t make his injury any less devastating. Third-string quarterback Davis Webb stepped in for Taylor.
