Former Pacers swingman Kelan Martin signs with Celtics, per report

Former Pacers swingman Kelan Martin has a new NBA home.

The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Tuesday that Martin is signing a 10-day contract with the Celtics.

Martin is in his third NBA season and last played for Indiana. He was waived Jan. 6 while in the league's COVID-19 protocols and just before the second year of his two-year deal became guaranteed.

"He's a pro, and the way he played for us, he'll get picked up," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said the day after Martin was waived. "If he doesn't get picked up off waivers, he'll get picked up immediately, I believe. ... I really liked the way he played. He helped us win some games, and we obviously wish him well."

Martin, a former Butler standout, averaged 6.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 27 games with the Pacers this season. He also shot 41.7% from the field in 16.4 minutes per contest.

Indiana hosts Boston on Sunday.

"He's a hometown guy," Carlisle said. "He's got a home here in Indy, so he'll always be a part of the Pacer family."
