Former LSU pitcher announces transfer destination

Former LSU sophomore pitcher Cale Lansville has announced that he is transferring to San Jacinto College for the 2023 season.

Coming out of high school, Lansville was rated the 85th overall player and the 27th right-handed pitcher in the nation for the class of 2020 by Perfect Game. He pitched in five games last year going six innings allowing nine hits, five earned runs, and six strikeouts with a 7.50 ERA.

San Jacinto is one of the top junior college baseball programs in the country. San Jacinto finished last season 45-20 with a loss to eventual National Champion Central Arizona in an elimination game. Lansville will get some high-quality innings and high-quality competition while with San Jacinto.

Hopefully, after San Jacinto, he can come back to LSU and pitch once again. The Tigers are preparing for their 2023 season after signing back-to-back No. 1 recruiting classes so the expectations are very high for Jay Johnson’s second year on the Bayou.
