Former Falcons DT Corey Peters announces retirement

Former Falcons defensive tackle Corey Peters announced that he was retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons in an Instagram post Thursday. The 34-year-old was drafted by Atlanta in the third round of the 2010 draft out of Kentucky.

Following a five-year run with the Falcons, Peters spent his next six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars for his final season in 2022.

Peters accounted for 146 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks during his five seasons in Atlanta. For his career, Peters appeared in 164 NFL games with 135 starts.
