Ford calls Melcie Guyton 'beautiful fit' as secretary to mayor's office

Gadsden native Melcie Guyton has been named secretary to the mayor’s office, according to a news release from Mayor Craig Ford.

“Melcie is a beautiful fit for our team in the mayor’s office,” Ford said in the release. “Combining her experience in customer service and connections throughout Gadsden with her bright energy, she is going to be a major asset in helping us improve city services and correspondence.”

Guyton is a 2010 graduate of Gadsden City High School; while there she was president of the Student Government Association, homecoming queen and a Titan Ambassador.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in music, with a business minor, from the University of Montevallo, and has experience in customer relations and office management with national corporations, according to the release.

Daughter of the Rev. Melvin Guyton and Tracie Buggs Guyton, she is a member of the Lambda Eta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. in Gadsden.

“I am elated to be chosen for such an opportunity as this, and I look forward to bringing my personality to City Hall,” said Guyton. “I am also looking forward to establishing new connections as well as being a part of the team that will work tirelessly in making this the City of Champions again.”
