Flo Rida thanks fans for concern after his son survives 'tragic fall' from apartment window
Flo Rida is thanking fans for an outpouring of concern as his son remains hospitalized after allegedly falling from a fifth-floor window.
The rapper's 6-year-old son, Zohar P. Dillard, fell out of a New Jersey apartment window on March 4, which caused "serious bodily injuries" after he fell on the concrete pavement, according to a lawsuit Dillard's mother Alexis Adams filed Monday.
Flo Rida revealed Thursday his son is still hospitalized from the injuries and thanked those who sent him their "concerns and prayers" on Instagram.
"He is getting the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall. I ask for your continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation," Flo Rida wrote on his Instagram story Thursday. "I would appreciate that this remain a private matter."
Adam's complaint accuses the apartment complex, management and building maintenance company of "negligent, willful and wanton acts" by putting the wrong-sized guards on the windows which led to her son's injuries, adding that Dillard has suffered permanent injuries and will be disabled in the future, leaving him unable "to perform his usual functions."
Both Adams and Dillard are listed as plaintiffs in the complaint, with Adams operating as Dillard's guardian. Adams is requesting a trial by jury and suing the complex to be awarded punitive damages and the cost of her son's medical bills.
The lawsuit comes two months after Flo Rida was awarded $82.6 million after battling energy drink company Celsius in court after a South Florida jury found that the makers of Celsius breached a contract with the rapper and singer, and tried to hide money from him.
