Flagler women's lacrosse makes first NCAA Tournament
No. 10 Flagler College has been selected for its first appearance in the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament.
The Gulf South champions will open the 16-team NCAA Women's Division II Lacrosse Tournament on Friday at the University of Tampa’s Naimoli Family Athletic Complex. The Saints are on a 15-match winning streak.
The only loss of the season was 14-12 against No. 5 Grand Valley State on Feb. 16. Grand Valley, 14-4, is a fourth seed in the Midwest Region after winning the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Flagler is the first Gulf South program to make the NCAA Tournament field.

South Region bracket
Third-seeded Flagler (17-1) is in the four-team South Region. The Saints open against No. 2 seed Florida Southern (16-3) at 3 p.m. Friday. The No. 6 Moccasins, a fourth seed a year ago, lost to host Tampa 17-16 in the Sunshine State Conference championship game on April 30.
Tampa (17-2) takes on No. 4-seed Rollins College (15-3) at 11 a.m. Friday. The winners meet at noon Sunday.
The national semifinals and finals will be May 19-21 at Key Stadium at Indianapolis.
