Findlay Market: Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade also delayed as MLB lockout continues
One of the premier events of Cincinnati Reds Opening Day, the Findlay Market parade, is delayed once again.
On Tuesday, Neil Luken, chairman of the parade committee, confirmed the Findlay Market parade won't happen on March 31, following news from Major League Baseball officials that Opening Day and the first two series of the 2022 season are canceled.

"If there's not going to be a game, we're not going to have a parade. Our stance is we're going to have a parade when the Reds open at home. There's a chance now that Reds could open on the road now," Luken said.

He said the plan now is to hopefully have a parade during the Reds first home game of the season.
Luken said they're willing to do what it takes to make sure a parade happens this year, but they can't put plans in motion unless they get an official date for a home game from MLB.

"We're going full force with this. We want to make it happen. It's the Findlay Market work ethic. We're not giving up that easy. We're excited to show off this new renaissance in Over-the-Rhine. We're excited to have people come down to Findlay Market and check us out," Luken said.

He added that while the parade committee is willing to do what it takes to have a parade this year, many factors are still outside their control.
For the past two years, the Opening Day parade was also delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
