Mexican farmers, auto-parts makers urge dialogue with US
Mexican agricultural and auto-parts producers called Sunday for "dialogue" to head off the trade war prompted by US President Donald Trump's decision to impose 25 percent tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada.The agriculture and auto-parts industries are expected to be among the hardest hit by Trump's action, which he says is designed to pressure the US's closest neighbors -- and partners in a trade accord -- to crack down on migration and drug trafficking.

FBI employees questioned about involvement in Jan. 6 cases as Justice Department weighs firings
Thousands of FBI employees who participated in investigations related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol are being asked to complete in-depth questionnaires about their involvement in the inquiries as the Trump administration Justice Department weighs disciplinary actions that could result in firings. The questions, which were described to The Associated Press by a person familiar with the matter, ask employees to describe their office and title and to specify their involvement in the Jan. 6 investigations, including whether they participated in search warrants, conducted interviews and testified at trial. The survey is in keeping with an extraordinary Justice Department directive Friday for the names, titles and offices of all FBI employees who worked on investigations related to Jan. 6, when pro-Trump rioters who stormed the Capitol triggered a violent and bloody clash with law enforcement in a massive attempt to block the certification of election results.

Mexico's Sheinbaum vows resilience as US tariffs trigger trade war
Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Sunday that reason should prevail a day after her government and the U.S. announced tariffs against one another, raising her fist in the air as she said she does not lack courage to respond. US CDC orders pullback of new scientific papers involving its researchers, source says
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking to withdraw all papers involving its researchers that are being considered for publication by external scientific journals to allow for a review by the Trump administration, a federal official told Reuters. The sweeping order came in an email from the CDC's chief science officer on Friday addressed to all division heads at the agency, the official, who has seen the email, told Reuters. The review is aimed at removing language to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order saying the federal government will only recognize two sexes, male and female.
