'Elf' movie pop-up returns to Lost Whale cocktail bar
Starting Dec. 6 Lost Whale will treat every day like Christmas with an "Elf" pop-up bar, featuring décor and themed-drinks inspired by the popular movie starring Will Farrell and Zooey Deschanel.
This is the second year the Bay View cocktail bar will be hosting the pop-up, which will run until Dec. 31.
As in scenes from the movie, Lost Whale will be decorated with hand-cut paper snowflakes and Christmas lights, and a model train will be suspended from the ceiling.
Cocktails will include drinks like "Son of a nutcracker," with Bacardi rum, lemon, house-made chestnut orgeat, Lustau Deluxe Cream Sherry, Bittercube root beer bitters, served on a snowball and topped with mint and powdered "snow;" and "I'm a cotton-headed ninny muggins," with Ford's gin, lemon, winter-spiced cranberry, Bittercube Jamaican #1 bitters, Campo Viejo Spanish reserve cava and cotton candy pour-over.
Lost Whale, 2151 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., is open 5 p.m. to bar close Tuesday through Sunday.
