Duke basketball's Jon Scheyer still fuming after overturned call in loss to Virginia
Duke basketball coach Jon Scheyer is still upset at how the ACC handled the end of regulation Saturday's game when the Blue Devils lost to Virginia 69-62, even after the conference admitted its error.
"For me, I'm angry still. I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't," Scheyer said after the ACC clarified that the call was incorrect. "Saturday was a disappointing outcome, and I respect (the ACC) for putting that out. I respect them for acknowledging that, but that doesn't change (the fact that it happened)."
With 1.2 seconds remaining in regulation, Duke freshman Kyle Filipowski drove to the basket and was contacted at the rim. However, despite a foul initially being called, the play was overturned, with the official ruling that any potential foul came after the clock ran out.

Later on Saturday night, the ACC released a statement saying that according to the NCAA Rule Book, "the play should have resulted in two free throws for Duke."
"They (the officials) have a hard job," Scheyer said. "(But) you can't miss a rule."
Scheyer added that Filipowski sprained his ankle on the play and was receiving an MRI on Monday afternoon. His status for Tuesday's game (7 p.m., ACCN) at Cameron Indoor Stadium against Notre Dame is uncertain.
