DURHAM — Duke men’s basketball assistant coach Nolan Smith will miss Saturday's game versus Elon due to the school's health and safety protocol.

According to a release from the school, an assessment by Duke's medical personnel indicated no other members of the program are at risk with this particular circumstance.

The Blue Devils struggled to find an opponent for Saturday's game after Cleveland State and then Loyola of Maryland could not make the trip to Durham due to a positive COVID-19 result within its program.

Duke is down to two coaches on the bench Saturday with associate head coach Chris Carrawell recovering from knee surgery.
