Senate report alleges Amazon rejected warehouse safety recommendations due to productivity concerns
At least two internal Amazon studies found a link between how quickly the online retailer's warehouse workers perform tasks and workplace injuries, but the company rejected many safety recommendations out of concern the proposed changes might reduce productivity, according to a U.S. Senate committee report. The 160-page review issued Sunday night was compiled by the Democratic majority staff of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. The report is the final product of a probe into Amazon’s warehouse safety practices that U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders initiated last year.

Trump calls on Biden to stop selling unused portions of the border wall
President-elect Donald Trump on Monday called on the Biden administration to stop selling off unused portions of border wall that were purchased but not installed during his first administration. Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, Trump threatened legal action, saying he has spoken to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and other Texas officials about a potential restraining order. Congress last year required the Biden administration to dispose of the unused border wall pieces.

Ukraine says it has laser weapon able to down targets flying at over 2km
The military official, Vadym Sukharevskyi, did not provide any more details in his first official remarks about the existence of the weapon. "Today we can already shoot down aircraft at an altitude of over 2 km with this laser," he was quoted as saying by the Interfax-Ukraine news agency. In April, former British Defence Minister Grant Shapps said that Britain's DragonFire laser, which is expected to go into service in 2027, could potentially be used in Ukraine to counter Russian drones.

More suspected drone sightings in the eastern U.S. led to a temporary airspace shutdown at an Air Force base in Ohio and arrests near Boston's Logan International Airport, as elected officials increased their push for action to identify and stop the mysterious unmanned flights. Drones flying around Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, forced base officials to close the airspace for about four hours late Friday into early Saturday, said Robert Purtiman, a base spokesperson. It is the first time drones have been spotted at the base, one of the largest in the world, and no sightings have been reported since early Saturday, Purtiman said Monday.
