The Gentlemen of the Garden hold disco ball
Any disco denizen of the '70s will tell you that after 50 years, terms like hustle, bump, shake and the finger take on a whole new meaning.
Might as well add ''Up All Night'' to the pile, too.

But for the Gentlemen of the Garden, the return of its annual ''GOG a GoGo Disco Ball'' after a three-year COVID absence was worth slathering the knee with Icy Hot and staying out after sunset.
GOG father Bob Eigelberger and wife Susie Phipps were chairman and chairwoman of the event, which was held in the fabled gardens of their historic North End home.
The evening began in the garden courtyard — recently reconfigured due to the demise of the ancient banyan tree — with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction that included a cruise on the vintage Mariner III (snapped up by Margrit Lynn) and a painting by our now-departed dearest Carleton Varney.
After dinner on the terrace, the bell-bottomed, big-haired group hit the dance floor to disco the night away.
The GOG membership has diversified geographically, with horse country folks Karen and John Klopp, and is skewing decidedly younger, what with the handsome likes of Dominick Commesso, Diego Uruttia, Nick McClelland, Luis Urrea, Wynn van Wyck and their gorgeous wives.
But really, any mention that the town is getting younger is just another way of saying that the rest of us are getting older.
One longtime GOGer noted the presence of many of the old GOGs from the nude calendar of nearly 20 years ago, remarking that many looked good enough to do the calendar again.
Well, sure. They just have to hold that strategically placed palm frond a whole lot lower.
