Hi! Tennessean food writer Mackensy Lunsford here with your Daily Briefing. I like to drop in on the weekends and talk about all the fun ways you can eat and drink your way through the city. Ready?

First, don't forget it's Tennessee Whiskey Week! You can brush up on our whiskey coverage right here. Or, you could taste the best of what the state's distilleries have to offer at Ascend Amphitheater this weekend, which will host a grand whiskey tasting on May 20, rain or shine. The event starts at 1 p.m. for VIP ticket holders, and 2 p.m. for the general public. Tickets here.

If you're in the mood for some fun dining around town, I have some options for you there too. First, watch this:

Did you catch the quick video of the new Sinatra Bar & Lounge? Y'all, I don't usually do theme restaurants. But in this case, the food and drinks were top-notch. My only quibble is that it's a bit pricey. Want to know more, and if it's worth the money? Check out the review that my compatriot Brad Schmitt and I wrote.

Also on May 20, don't forget about the Nashville Rosé Festival, featuring more than 100 Rosé wines, cocktails, ciders and craft beer from local breweries.
