D.W. Daniel quarterback Trent Pearman announces his commitment to Clemson

D.W. Daniel senior quarterback Trent Pearman announced via Twitter on Tuesday he has committed to Clemson where he will be a preferred walk-on.

"ALL IN!," he wrote on his post. "Thank you to coach (Dabo) Swinney and coach (Brandon) Streeter for this awesome opportunity! A dream come true! Thank you to everyone who has helped me develop as a person and an athlete!"

The two-time Gatorade South Carolina Player of the Year is the son of longtime Clemson football assistant Danny Pearman, who joined the staff in December of 2008 and is now director of football scouting. He becomes the second Clemson quarterback to win this past year's Gatorade award with Cade Klubnik having been selected in Texas.

Pearman helped lead Daniel to a second-consecutive Class AAAA state championship with a win over Camden in December when he completed 27 of 36 passing for 272 yards and four touchdowns. He finished the season 291 of 389 passing for 3,769 yards with 45 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He also had 73 rushes for 306 yards and eight touchdowns.

For his career he completed 455 of 599 passes for 6,555 yards with 80 touchdowns and seven interceptions in addition to 127 carries for 476 yards and nine touchdowns.
