CVG passengers should arrive at airport early due to high passenger volumes, feds say
Passengers taking flights out of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in the coming days should arrive early, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
With federal officials expecting higher than usual passenger numbers due to spring break travel, travelers are being asked to get to the airport at least two hours before their flight, TSA officials said in a release.
Officials said the busiest time of day is between 5 a.m and 8 a.m.
"Nationwide, average daily passenger throughput will surpass 90% of pre-pandemic levels for the duration of March," the release states.
Passengers are also being asked to leave prohibited items out of carry-on bags to streamline the screening process, officials said.
“We’re asking the public to do their part by arriving in plenty of time, packing smart, and treating our officers and fellow passengers with respect and kindness," TSA Kentucky Federal Security Director Ray Williams said in a statement.
Though mask mandates are being lifted across the country, face masks are still required on airplanes and at airports through April 18, according to USA TODAY.
