Crowd Recites Mourner's Kaddish Outside Supreme Court
Solemn crowds recited a Jewish prayer of mourning outside the Supreme Court on Friday night, September 18, shortly after the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg was announced.
In a statement, the court said that Ginsburg died from complications of pancreatic cancer. A trailblazing figure who advocated for women’s rights before becoming a federal judge in 1980, Ginsburg was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton in 1993. She was 87 at the time of her death.
