Collins-Maxwell's Houge sisters make all-ISC South first team in girls basketball

The Collins-Maxwell girls basketball team placed four players on the all-Iowa Star Conference South Division basketball teams in 2021-2022.

The Houge sisters — Erica and Alexis — were both named to the all-ISC South first team. The rest of the team was made up of Baxter seniors Elie Tuhn and Lilie Vansice and Meskwaki seniors Wakinyela Bear and Geanna Bear.

Erica, a sophomore, averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3.6 assists in conference play. She shot 44.8 % from the field and 68.3 % from the line.

Alexis, a senior, put up 11.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4 steals per game in helping Collins-Maxwell tie Meskwaki for second in the conference with a 9-3 record. She made 19 3-pointers in conference play.

Sophomore center Chloe Wierson landed on the ISC South Division second team. The other second-team selections were Baxter junior Mandee Selover and freshman Emie Tuhn, Meskwaki sophomore Sia Bear, GMG sophomore Adelyn Sienknecht and North Tama freshman Aubree Monat.

Wierson averaged 13.7 points, 9 rebounds and 2.3 steals in ISC South games. She shot 54.2 % from the field and 62.1 % from the line.

Spartan senior forward Kenzi Wierson was named all-ISC South honorable mention. Kenzi averaged 5.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.5 assists and shot 44.9 % from the field.

Elie Tuhn was named the ISC South Player of the Year after averaging 14.8 points, 5.5 assists and 4.6 steals in helping Baxter win the conference with a perfect 12-0 record. The Bolts' Eric Padget was named ISC South Coach of the Year.
