Col. Yevgeny 'Eugene' Vindman talks about where Russia has faltered in attacking Ukraine

U.S. Army Col. Yevgeny "Eugene" Vindman spoke recently with USA TODAY Opinion about the situation in Ukraine as Russia's invasion of the country unfolds.

You can see a video above of the interview with him and USA TODAY deputy opinion editor Tim Swarens and commentary editor Austin Bogues.

"My personal opinion is that Putin's days are numbered," Vindman also said in a written Q&A published earlier this week. "Putin has attempted maximalist goals – conquer all of Ukraine and pacify the population. He will not achieve these goals. Putin is a strongman who is demonstrating that he is not very strong."

Bombing hospitals: Russia blew up a hospital maternity ward. Putin is a war criminal committing genocide.
