Coast Guard seeking missing Alabama boater; vessel found near Fort Pickens
The U.S. Coast Guard began searching for a missing Alabama man Monday near Fort Pickens.
John Hayden, 63, was last reported leaving Orange Beach, Alabama, at 5 p.m. Sunday and was due to return at midnight, a Coast Guard news release said.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call at about 11 a.m. Monday reporting a vessel was found with the throttle engaged and kill switch missing with no one aboard. The vessel was found near the Fort Pickens Fishing Pier.
