Coachella 2023: Traffic heavy as Weekend 2 attendees exit the desert
The day after Weekend 2 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival wrapped up, traffic was heavy Monday morning around the Empire Polo Club and on the freeway as large numbers of fans headed west toward Los Angeles and vicinity.
With more than 100,000 in attendance at the Indio music festival over the last several days, the backups are virtually guaranteed.
Traffic monitoring platform Sigalert.com reported traffic backed up on I-10 from Jefferson Street in Indio all the way to Highway 111.

Traffic tends to hit beginning in the late morning as the region's hotels and short-term vacation rentals empty.
Although the Coachella festival has ended, there could be more traffic this weekend tied to the Stagecoach country music festival, which will also be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio from Friday through Sunday.
